Milliondollarhomepage hype may be over but the idea of linking websites from a static page is not over yet. After the success of the milliondollarhome there were many copycats that started similar pages. Well for the advertisers, it was just another link from a site that may receive some visitors during the hype and then no one will find your site. Well that is why I never looked in buying a link from that site nor was I going to pay $1 per pixel!
That said, I came across a site that stem from this idea but it is different. 50PagesWebsite.com is different because it actually sells a placement like a search engine on different pages upto 50 pages. So if you purchase a link on the front page (page 1 results) it will cost you $50 per link. However if you proceed to page two it will cost you $49 per link. It goes on like that until you reach page 50 which will cost you $1 per link.
It is similar to a search engine results page but it is not. The links are in no particular order. However, any visitor can actually see the results unlike the milliondollarhomepage where you need a microscope.
From an advertiser's perspective, I think it is a great opportunity for someone to buy a link that will last for another 5 years. The site guarantees that. I am only talking about this site because I find it interesting.
We will wait and see how this works out for the 50pageswebsite.com.
Pixel sites are dead, a new way of marketing online is here with ViewAMillionAds.com.
ViewAMillionAds.com consists of three parts: advertisers, contestants, and the contest. The beauty of the site is that all three parts advertisers, contestants, and contest thrive on each other. The advertisers are willing to buy ad displays because of the contestants, the contestants are viewing the ad displays because of the contest, and the contest is possible because the advertisers are buying ad displays. One big happy family!
For advertisers, there will be one million (1,000,000) ad displays for sale. Each ad display will consist of a banner and an advertiser's slogan which will be displayed in a "ad cycle" window. The ad banner will be viewed by itself with no other banner on the screen. The ad banner within the "ad cycle" window will be drawn randomly out of the one million ad banners. Because of this, the more ad displays an advertiser purchases, the more likely their ad banner will be displayed within an "ad cycle" window multiple times. Each contestant will have an "ad cycle" window open, so the amount of ad displays being viewed will depend on how many contestants are viewing ads.
As for contestants, they will participate in what we like to call the internet's largest contest where the grand prize winner will be awarded $1.5 million dollars ($1,500,000) for FREE! There will be big prizes for 2nd - 10th place finishers too, over $130,000 dollars! There is no set amount of contestants, the more the better. Each contestant will view ads in an "ad cycle" window. At any given time each contestant will only view one random ad display and when the contestant is done they will continue on to the next. Security and verification features will be implemented so that no bots or scripts can be used to cycle continuously through the ads without being viewed. We are also toying with the idea of putting random prizes behind ads that are clicked, meaning at any time the viewer has a chance to win a prize just by clicking on the advertiser's banner. The first person to view a million ads will be concluded as the winner of the grand prize! There are no fees of any kind and there is nothing a contestant has to purchase to be entered. This contest is FREE for all, even advertisers!

why not copy it if it works? That is why we have BMW, Merc, Honda, Toyota, VOlvo, etc. It was all Ford's idea.
